As Spring time gets closer to us it is time to start planning for a new season of outdoor racing. The past couple of years we have seen a few organized series events run throughout the state of Wisconsin, Unfortunately these series have gone away for one reason or another. After the great success of the Reedsburg Rumble the past 2 years, I felt it was time to bring a series to Wisconsin that will showcase the great racing and tracks we have here in the state and a true format that will show who are the State Champions!
4-29-10 Now that we have the Short Course Showdown at Trackside in the books, it is time to focus on the WNS! Everyone is looking forward to the opening of the outdoor season and we are just over a week away from the opening event in Monroe. As of now, the weather man is on our side and it is looking good. The gang in at Cheese City is all set and ready to help us open the season. They have a great layout prepared and the only thing it is missing is all of us. I know many of you will be there on Friday for practice and please remember, Saturday will be an early start to allow us to get things rolling, so please be ready. As the electric 1/8th scales classes are continuing grow in popularity, I am pleased to announce Tekin Electronics will be the sponsor of these classes. Details of what this will mean to everyone is forthcoming, but it is awesome to have Tekin on board for the inaugural year of the WNS. We look forward to getting the season underway and seeing everyone next week at race number 1.
5-7-10 DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN IN MONROE TOMORROWS EVENT IS CANCELED.
5-8-10 Well the start to the 1st annual WNS will have to wait. Mother nature sure did not feel like helping us this weekend and rained on our parade. We knew that it was a risk to try and have an event so early in May but it was worth a shot. I am looking for a date to have a make up, but it is not looking good. Unfortunately my schedule this summer has me booked almost each weekend so it will be difficult to schedule a make up event. If I am able to change anything around and it works for Cheese City, then it will happen.
One thing I am also trying to fit into the schedule is an event with MARCCA. Since the beginning of Trackside we have had a great relationship with the club and it seems that the new President and board are quickly on the right track to get the club back in the right direction. They have a beautiful new track which is much closer to Trackside so we have been trying to schedule an event and today we have been successful. The WNS will now have an event with the MARCCA Club.
On Sunday July 11th we will hold series race #3 at MARCCA. I know that Sunday does not work for everyone, and for this I am truly sorry, but it is the only day that I have available to fit in an event. Talking with the club they are very happy to be able to be part of the WNS. We will follow our posted schedule of registration from 7-9am and racing no later than 10am. Saturday will be an all day practice for the event with a small $5 practice fee that goes to the club. More info regarding Camping and trailers will be available soon.
So now that we have added another event to the schedule, it will continue to be a best of 3 series. What that means is that even if we end up having a total of 5 events in this years series, we will only count a drivers best 3 events. I am again sorry that things did not work out for today's event, but it just gives us that much more to look forward to in Reedsburg on June 5th.
Thanks,
Scotty
6-6-10 Well we finally were able to get the WNS underway. The day was filled with great racing and as always in Reedsburg a bit of rain. You can find the race report on that page but here is a link to the great video of the Expert A main taken by Nick Billie.
EXPERT BUGGY A MAIN
I am struggling to get the points spreadsheet posted and will have that done as soon as I can figure it out. Thanks to all who attended and we look forward to seeing everyone July 11th at Marcca.
Thanks
Scotty
7-12-10 It was a great day at Marcca and I want to thank them for the great hospitality and wonderful facility they provided for round 3 of the WNS. We had to rearrange the finals a bit to be able to get them all in and I want to thank all of you for being ready for your race so we could get all the race program in. Here is a link to the race report that was listed on Redrc.net. Up next for the WNS is Round 4 which will be held at Dirt Heaven raceway located in Champion. Which is just outside of Green Bay. I look forward to seeing everyone for another great event
See you at Dirt Heaven,
Scotty
8-4-10 Well they say you cant teach an old dog new tricks, but this old dog finally has figured out the basics of Excel and I was able to finish the current points standing. I am sorry it has taken me a bit to do this but I finally was able to finish. Results are posted on the points page. A couple of reminders. Round 1 in Monroe was a rain out and will not count as a throw out. Also if we get any more rain outs this season those also will not count as a throwout. Check the points page for points info scoring format.
Thanks
Scotty
